Job Description

ACI Federal is seeking a skilled and experienced Ultrasound Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic sonography examinations, providing exceptional patient care, and ensuring compliance with medical safety standards. This role is integral in supporting accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans through the use of advanced imaging techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment in accordance with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and perform diagnostic sonography examinations as ordered by the supervising physician.
  • Evaluate patient medical history and ensure exam orders meet medical necessity standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, ensuring comfort and understanding of procedures.
  • Use proper positioning tools, ergonomic scanning techniques, and equipment adjustments to acquire optimal images while prioritizing patient and sonographer safety.
  • Apply independent judgment to capture and document relevant anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions in examination images.
  • Assist with interventional procedures, such as biopsies and fluid drainages, when required.
  • Review, synthesize, and prepare preliminary findings for interpreting physicians.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies.
  • Adhere to professional and ethical standards, delivering patient care aligned with the Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for Diagnostic Sonographers.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS or equivalent) is required.
  • Proven experience performing a variety of ultrasound examinations, including OB/GYN, vascular, abdominal, small parts, and interventional procedures.
  • Strong understanding of sonographic anatomy and ability to differentiate normal and abnormal findings.
  • Proficient in operating ultrasound imaging equipment and medical record systems (e.g., PACS).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual skills (e.g., English and Punjabi) are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. 3 years or more is required.
  • Familiarity with assisting physicians during complex interventional procedures.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 7:30a-4:30p. No weekends.
