What You'll Do:

In this role, the QA Engineer will be involved in manual testing of Mobile apps involving IOT devices integrated with security applications, will be working with the Mobile development and testing teams, and will be helping to shape the direction of their next generation features and products for home security by ensuring the applications are effectively working through their testing efforts.

The individual will work closely with the business owners, product management, and the mobile development team during the entire product lifecycle, from concept to delivery and post launch support for manual testing and validation efforts.

These resources will be expected to write test suites for manual mobile development and smart home IoT automation products and should be flexible and have the ability to adapt and learn new things.

• Perform requirement analysis to translate both business documentation and architectural documents to complex test cases.
• Create test plans and provide test estimations.
• Troubleshoot the real-time mobile issues for identification and reproduction (supporting and augmenting tests cases).
• Pull and perform log analysis for root cause analysis.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience with manual testing on web applications including cross browser testing experience.
• Mobile testing experience, both iOS and Android, with manual and automation tools.
• Prior experience in ADT-type security or smart home automation systems testing; testing applications involving devices of some kind (could be security systems, cameras, mobile devices, tablets, etc.)
• Understanding hardware and Internet of Things (IoT).
• Good communication skills.
• Work independently with minimal guidance.
• Ability to interact well with team in a collaborative agile environment. Strong teamwork aptitude, willingness to learn skills, and ability to coach and mentor other engineers to help grow their skills.
• Test and defect management tools: JIRA & ALM.
• Logging tools: Dynatrace.
• Bitbucket for source control, exposure to Jenkins to enable CI/CD is plus.
• Automation testing is a plus.
