What is the Solution Architect role?

Elementum’s Solution Architect is responsible for all aspects of new use case solution implementation. This includes gathering requirements, drafting the solution design, conducting design workshops, configuring the platform, conducting UAT and answering customer questions associated with the solution.

The Solution Architect defines the overall solution, including understanding the business scenarios, use cases and data requirements to enable the Elementum Enterprise Platform. The Solution Architect will apply technical and enterprise business knowledge to define the design, development, and implementation of various business and process management use cases to effectively use the Elementum exception handling platform. You will formulate enterprise and system-wide strategies to support customers' journey within the Elementum platform.

What you will do:

• Identifies customer’s short and long term workflow handling needs; designs and implements solutions to align with business strategy and Elementum platform.
• Creates and owns the solution design document used to understand the business need, documents the product fit, identifies gaps, and recommends the technical implementation approach.
• Creates functional specifications during the planning phase of the project to support the solution design document to cover the use cases
• Fully documents modeling approach, data sources and transformations, assumptions, and constraints.
• Provides technical oversight of implementation projects to ensure alignment with applications architecture.

Requirements:

• Experience in implementing data driven workflow best practices and process improvements
• Clear understanding of multiple data cloud concepts (ie. Snowflake)
• Capable of managing multiple assignments of varied duration, scope, topic, function, priority and schedule
• Understanding of broad business processes and the impact on the IT systems is a plus
• Strong presentation skills
• Works with potential customers to identify and understand mission needs and to vet approaches; builds a design that best meets their needs with the platform capabilities.
• Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts that contribute to the development of innovative and differentiating solutions and ideas.
• Addresses complex issues and provides creative solutions that implement company capabilities or products.
• Provides plans – schedule, level of effort, risk and mitigations – across work-assignments.
• Provides proposal solution leadership across all Volumes; Authors technical sections as needed, and leads other subject matter experts across a proposal response.
• Works independently while collaborating and consulting with customers, executives, and other solution architects.
• Develops subject matter expertise of cutting edge technologies and innovative equipment; Researches current and future technological trends, developments and applications; Acts as advisor to programs and new business as to improvements and innovations that would benefit customer.
• Adheres to configuration management and documentation practices.
• Communicates clearly (written and verbal); determines and pursues courses of action essential in obtaining desired outcomes.

Who you are:

• Business process improvement and/or business process reengineering
• Proven strong communication skills (written and verbal); determines and pursues courses of action essential in obtaining desirable outcomes.
• Proven self-starter who seizes and maintains the initiative in ambiguous situations; Proven willingness to challenge the status quo and propose new and innovative solutions to the most complex challenges
• Capable of managing multiple assignments of varied duration, scope, topic, function, priority and schedule
• Expertise and experience in technical leadership roles implementing and integrating multiple enterprise systems
• Practical supply chain experience across multiple functional areas including planning, inventory, manufacturing and production
• Experience with various supply chain software vendors including SAP and JD Edwards
• Function comprehension of SQL and database concepts, including experience with Snowflake
• Ability to quickly understand new technology through self-learning
• Lean process background, training and experience with methodologies such as 5S and Kaizen
• Experience driving requirements and collecting data to successfully implement supply chain software solutions
• Ability to work with customers to develop a digital roadmap by leveraging Design Thinking techniques
• Experience working directly with customers in a multicultural environment
• Experience setting up prototypes based on customer requirements and demonstrating to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior executives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering preferred), or equivalent related experience
• 5+ years enterprise systems integration, engineering, consulting and/or development background with a focus on enterprise package strategy and delivery and/or business intelligence solutions
