The Junior Software Engineer role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Piada’s company sites, internal analytics dashboard, and point-of-sale systems with the goal of enhancing our technical infrastructure to better serve our guests and teams. This role is also responsible for maintaining menu management systems, managing third-party applications, assisting stores with point-of-sale issues, and partnering with internal teams to use technology to solve business problems. You will also be the primary point of contact for guests seeking help with online orders, gift cards, Piada Rewards, and other inquiries or concerns they may have. The ideal candidate for this role will embody and demonstrate Piada’s core values, have a passion for development and guest experience, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with various cross-functional teams within the organization.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of online, mobile, and internal software platforms
  • Collaborates with Marketing to create new content on mypiada.com
  • Collaborates with other departments to develop solutions to business problems, including creating integrations between existing platforms
  • Manages user accounts in cloud-based software
  • Maintains, updates, and creates menu items as menu changes
  • Supports stores with point-of-sale issues
  • Answers guest questions regarding online ordering, gift cards, Piada Rewards, and other questions/concerns that are sent to the Technology-managed email addresses.
  • Provides timelines and roadmaps for development projects and technology initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned, as opportunities and challenges arise

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CS, Computer Science and Engineering, CSE, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical certification
  • 2 years of experience in full-stack development, with preferences for:
    • Ruby on Rails
    • JavaScript
    • HTML/CSS
    • C#
    • Linux server maintenance
  • Understanding of user-experience theories and concepts
  • Ability to take business requirements and translate them into technology solutions
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • High attention to detail
  • Night and weekend availability to assist stores with menu availability and troubleshooting, menu launches, and software deployments
